64 ford 4000 3 point problem

I am researching a troubling problem with my 3 point. Loaded or unload it comes all the up and stays right where it should (control at top of range). It leaks down maybe ¼ of an inch in a couple hours with a Ferguson three bottom plow on it.

While using a PHD I was getting a horrible bouncing. What I was doing was lowering the PHD, digging down to the point dirt was covering the auger. I would then raise the PHD to expel the dirt, and drop it back down. The issue only happens if I try to hold the height short of all the way up, keeping the bit at the top of the hole vs. all they way out. It would bounce violently about 8-12 inches.

I do not think it is the hiccups as described by leak down. I was in position control and I am leaning towards linkage or other issues. In position control the 3 point does not seem to respond like I think it should. I was/am under the impression the arm should rise “as” I raise the control lever, stopping “and” holding at what ever height I stop at. Currently the 3 point raises at the very top of the control only and acts like a more like a standard hydraulic control either on or off (up / hold / down) at the very top rage of the quadrant control.

Does anyone know a cure, or term cure I could search to pin this down? I did not notice any issues in draft control pulling the plow.

i'd bet the cam pin is just about slap worn out.. plus when you change it, do the 'alternate' adjustments listed in the manual.

(quoted from post at 16:22:58 08/23/10) Got a part number for that?
Looked at the parts list online and don't see anything with that description.

Does a 640 have the same one?
Mine has all the symptoms described in the initial post.
