640 Clutch stuck

I power washed my 640 to paint. Water must have gotten to clutch and rusted clutch plate tight. I drove round and round ,up hills with trailer, stabbing brakes and then parked for winter. If I remove the steering gear box, can I access the clutch to pry free? Splitting will scratch paint and timely process. Next spring I can try cultivating with clutch depressed. Right now I am depressed about my "new" 640 being froze. Also anyone ever put spinout rims on a 640 and have a rim source?

If you remove the steering box you can get some access to the clutch. I have free many by just spraying PB Blaster and blocking the clutch down. It will depend how bad it stuck. The last 640 I did I split the tractor, half the disc plate stayed on the flywheel when prying apart. Some aren't stuck that bad.
I put PA's on my 640. You will have to look around for the rims. Not easy or cheap to find but they are out there. Even some that are not all rotted out. You'll probably need wheel extenders if you want the disc all the way out and rims all the way in.

When parking a tractor for overnight, I alway block down the clutch. My new Kubota even has a hook and eye for this.

#1 always block the clutch pedal down if your going to leave it parked for very long
#2 pull the starter off and then with the pedal blocked down spray the clutch with brake cleaner spray. Turn the engine so as to get it to the whole clutch area. Then put it back together and take it for a drive

block clutch, put pto in gear with a mower or something on it if you can.

shift to high gear or reverse. with fuel off, but key on, and brakes locked. just take a lil wire and just keep bumping the starter. 1 bump at a time. if you are living right.. after 1-10 bumps they will pop free.
