640 Heat Shield Dimensions

I am fabricating a custom muffler heat shield due to the original was missing. If anyone can tell me the length and width of a original before I go to cutting. It is for a 1955 640. Will be using some aluminum sheet and thinking I should leave it unpainted.

I would paint it with some of that new ceramic type paint in a color that would reflect the heat down and away from the fuel tank

The heat shield is 25 3/4 inches in length. The front width is 6 5/8 inches and tapers to the back to 5 1/2 inches. The front outside corner is dog earred. The taper is on the outside edge to follow the line of the left hood panel. Hope this helps.

Thanks to all for the information and Thanks to jimNCal for the offer . I am going to try and see how making my own will work going by GlenIdaho's dimensions. Will let ya'll know how it turns out.
