640 Oil Fluids

I just drained the hydraulic fluid from the center drain plug. Will replace with the NH 341 oil. Tranny oil is next and then the rear drain plug which I think is rear end oil. Are the oil chambers connected to another? [Do they splash over into the next chamber?]
I thought I was supposed to use 8 qts 80-90 weight in the trans and also 80-90 wt[ [ 8 qts ] in the rear end. But if they splash over into the next chamber, this won't work. My young NH dealer advisers questioned what a 640 Ford from 1957 even was, and they say use 341 hydraulic oil in all chambers.

time to change dealers!!

ps. the spec is commonly called 134

as in M2C134

most utf oils today meet it.

safe to use that oil in all three seperate sumps.

OR use gear oil in the rear and trans as you plan, and utf in the hyds.

many times the seals between the hyds and rear can leak at the pto shaft seal.. so many just go utf all the way..

Thanks for the support. Hydraulic fluid looked good and fluids seems to hold proper levels so I am going with no big seal leaks.

Yes, I did mean 134 hydraulic oil; same as I use in my 1997 2120.

I posted on this tractor in Feb with the "stuck clutch" after power washing to repaint tractor and have since split the tractor and found a bent finger and there was also clutch material "rusted" to the flywheel where that finger did not fully release. And I seem to remember the tractor 'grinding gears' at times shifting it the last couple years. Put in whole new clutch kit. I use it very lightly in a years time. Split very easily for my first try using a floor jack under front and overhead trolley supporting and rolling back rear. I did remove the steering assembly's 4 bolts and lifted it clear of tractor so I could access and see what is going on in there. The tractor was still stripped of all gray colored tin, and new wiring harness was being installed so was not much extra work in that condition. The weep hole was plugged with 57 years of excess clutch shaft grease droppings working it way down hill; [the 'shaker' cotter key will be replaced into the weep hole] . Saw no other oil seal leaks. Father-in-laws last new tractor will be completely restored by the end of the year, hopefully; Drive train is all fine, just tune-up, fluid changes, steering bushings / bearings, and my wife hand lettering and replacing decals yet.
