This my first winter with this tractor so I have no history of cold weather starts. And being 6v is was a little concerned.

Well after sitting for 2 months and -3 for as high....it started on the first revolution and got 'er done!

I gotta say I sure like a 641 over an 8n!

3pt took awhile to become responsive though!

Nice looking tractor!

Yeah, I thought about getting an N or NAA before I learned about the hundreds. Plenty of time on 2n when I was in high school and now having the 861, I would not go back for what I use it for.

Stay warm!

Nice photo. Any tractor takes a bit for the hydraulic oil to warm up in extreme cold before the hydraulics work properly. The original 90 wt mineral oil that the old fords called for in the tranny/hydrualics took the longest. The newer replacement CNH spec stuff responds quicker in cold, but is also slightly more likely to leak too when summer rolls around as it is thinner.

I have a 1953 NAA/Juibilee, but I wish it was either a 650 or 651 series (for the 5 speed tranny). Better yet a 660 or 661 (for the 5 speed tranny and the live PTO). Oh well it is what it is.

Ya live PTO would be nice! But live hydraulics is REALLY nice over n series!

Man with this weather...sure am glad I took the time to tune it up this summer!

Ya not sure why the po went through the trouble of repainting and then not following a factory scheme.
Am I going to repaint it? Nope!

Looks like the previous owner took advantage of Fords offer of: "Free power wash and paint job with dealer service." In the early/mid 60's Ford (Henry) was still miffed with Ferguson and soon brought out the Ford Blue and probably wanted to show off the masses of Fords out there so the blue paint would do that. A very bitter splitup. My Dad worked in a Ford garage back then. LOcal dealers got in lots of blue paint from factory.

Really now! By the mid 1960's Henry had been dead for nearly 20 years as Henry died in 1947 and Henry's only son Edsel had already preceded him in death in 1943.
