6415 Hood repair

I have this tractor and the hood has cracked in several spots. A replacement at $3800 is out of my budget now. My question is has anyone tried the PC plastic welding rods for zenoy to repair these hoods? What were your results?

I have used a plastic stapler on many projects with great results

Not really sure. It was definitely plastic welding and used some kind of staples. If I recall correctly he said he heated the crack first to bring it together. He put a rectangle green patch on the outside like a tire/tube repair patch after smoothing the weld. I was not really concerned how it looked as long as it held. The green patch looks fine though, a lot better than the crack. This was like three years ago and it is holding just fine.
