Just before Christmas I posted a problem I was having with a 6420 I had just bought that would not shift into forward on occasion. Decided to remove the forward/reverse lever as that was the direction computer fault codes and suggestion from fellow YTer indicated. Somebody had taken the switch apart before and hadn't put it back together correctly. There is a small circuit board inside the switch that fits snugly when the switch is assembled correctly. I noticed when I was removing the lever if I shifted the lever back and forth the board was moving. Took the switch apart and reassembled it correctly, found a tiny wire pulled out of the circuit board and reinserted it with tweezers and a magnifying glass and tested the harness wires for continuity and reinstalled the lever. Everything works the way it is supposed to now; even the "N" on the lever glows when it is in neutral now. I've used the tractor a couple of days since and it hasn't missed yet. I'm feeling a lot better about my purchase since I've resolved this problem and thanks to all on this site that share their knowledge and experience to help others out. John.
