Hi,
I just bought a 1970 656 diesel that has a rebuilt engine. When did IH change the engine RPMs from 1800-2300 on the 656 because it doesn't seem like the engine can throttle up enough. Thanks

Never did on the gear drive tractors. The Hydrostatic drive 656 was the higher 2300 rpm's. Gear drive is 1965 + or - a few . Most will run a little over 2000.
