656 Hydro had a relief valve stick, however when I drained the oil it had brass in it, does this mean it"s done for? Should I put the valve back in and try it? I really hate this because it"s a great running Diesel.
 
Brass is bad, but, the damage is not likely to get any worse if you use it and it will go. Not like a bearing is out. It is either valve plates or parts of hydro pump or motor. Your call.
 
What I meant was the damage, if any, is already done so the repairs won't get any worse, money wise to fix it.
