'66 4020 Shift Will Not Move

1966 4020 Powershift; Less than 100 hrs on engine, hydraulics, and clutch rebuild. Tractor worked superbly when it was last run Nov 22.

Currently upgrading my battery game, will save that for another story. No starting power at the moment, and I need to move the tractor out of the way by pulling it 10 feet (with the TOW lever engaged of course!).

Problem: the shifter will not move up. It will do the 1/2 slide to the left, but it is a hard stop at that point. Emphasis hard stop. I thought maybe the parking pawl had a load on it and tried rocking the rear wheels to un-jam whatever might be hung up. Wont budge a fraction of an inch. If someone pushes the inching pedal, I can get it rock a tiny amount. This did nothing in trying to get the lever to move.

During rebuild all linkages were tightened/fixed/replaced as necessary. As noted above, when last used there wasnt an issue. Prior to rebuild, I never had this problem before, or anything close.

A quick check along the side of the machine doesnt show anything out of the ordinary. Since rebuild, the only electrical on-board is the starting system (with a separate switch for the time being), so I dont think it is any of the interlocks giving me a hard time.

Any thoughts? I hope I am not all effed up here, but is this simply that it wont shift without the engine running?

Thanks!

X2 park lock cable is stuck, disconnect it under platform at side of transmission freeing up spring-loaded park mechanism to release IF the tractor is on level ground and/or chocked so it doesn't roll away ir over you!

I went back out to the tractor the other day to
make a run at freeing this up. I gave the
tractor a slight tug from my truck on a whim and
it cured whatever ailed it. I think there was
some loading on there that jostling by hand
couldn't relieve. Anyway, thank you for the
input!

Now on to the batt box relo and rewire project!
