Dash/cowl back on, proofmeter installed. 1)Is the dash grommet the only support for the throttle throughout its length after the throttle lever bracket? Mine is missing the grommet and the dash has likely been wallowed out as a result. 2) I have a new grommet for the steering wheel. Does it just slide down the steering tube to the dash and does it stay put? Silicone caulk maybe?

The grommet for the throttle lever is the only support until you get to the other end. The grommet for the steeering column just slide on. Many stay in place because they have been repainted.

electrical wire /panel (thru) mount grommets work great..

I'll try yo find one. Think I can warm it up and slip it over the throttle end?

since you need one to fit the hole in the dash.. I'd say yes..
