6600 drag link removal

iirc.. I used a bottle jack and a piece of pipe,, positioned under the hole in the bolster,,, jacked it up under the end of the tie rod bolt.... partially dropped the tractor a couple of times and it popped loose after the third drop.. Dont remember if I had the nut still partially on the end or not.

to be clear. the bottle jack was used to push against the tie rod bolt? where did you have the pipe positioned?

Position the rod in over the hole in the bolster, place a bottle jack and steel rod through the hole against the rod end and apply some pressure against the rod end. Then hit down on the crossover arm using a hammer and large punch or steel rod to jar the rod end loose from the arm

Thanks for the help. It worked. Tried to do with the sheet metal in place, but couldn't get a good strike with the hammer and brass bar. Removed the sheet metal. Got a better path to swing the hammer. Struck several times....still would not come off. Added heat with a hand propane torch. Struck again and come off.
