Bought a 6600 with Schindler FWA a few years ago. Gearbox was always noisy - lots of clatter - put it down to having a cab & being a Ford (my MF 135 gearbox is silent).
Today, a new noise started - a high pitched screech proportional to revs / road speed. Barely noticeable in 1st & 2nd, but quite loud in 3rd & 4th above about 1,000 rpm (DP in high or low). Pitch is about same as an air drill. Not a whine - more of a screech - bit like a bearing at high speed running dry. Seems to come from gearbox area.
Any ideas what I should be looking for? Everything"s working fine, but this noise concerns me.
