Was finishing up the last of first cutting hay yesterday when a nephew called about a lightly burn 6600 row crop that had just been listed on Facebook Marketplace, tractor was only 30 miles from me.
I don't have Facebook so asked him it message them about us looking at the tractor when I finished baling.
Long story short guy said he would hold it till we got there which as about 2 1/2 hours later, said he'd already had 4 calls after my nephews about buying the tractor but he held it till we got there to look at it, he received 2 more calls while we where there.

Doesn't look like much but it's a 75 model 6600 row crop on 34" power adjust rears with dual remotes.
It's been setting in a barn for 4 years since it burnt, he had planed to repair it but has since retired and is selling off all of his old farm equipment.
Paid his asking price of $1500, feel like I got a good deal.

Sounds like a good deal to me.
When you get a chance, post the unit
number. All the information I have on
the 6600/7600 rowcrops says they were
1976 only models. (Though production
would have started probably in Oct. of
'75)

Scratched off some of the crud and found the model code and first part of the serial number.

Model code EC114C
EC1 = Early 6600 flat deck
1 = Diesel engine
4 = Ind 540 pto
c = 8x2 trans

Has oil bad air cleaner that was used from 1/75-5/76

Serial # C483??? makes it a late 75 model

We'll go pick it up Thursday.

If anyone knows where I can get the fiberglass tank shroud for the instrument column I'm in the market for one.
Same as used on 5200-7200.

I'm jealous I would have snatched that up in a heartbeat myself.

To me... it is hard to get salvage yards around my neck of the woods to go look in the yard and tell you if they even have a part. I am not sure they do this in other parts of the country but round here they send you out there on foot and tell you to watch out for snakes... which you will find shortly this time of year. I have had much better over the phone service at places above the Mason-Dixon line.

MidSouth Salvage in Decatur, AL I will guarantee has the cowl you are looking for. If they will find it in the yard. They are usually pretty good but small parts they don't make a lot of money on can maybe understandably lead to some level of frustration.

Thanks Limbhangers!
I've looked at MidSouth's web site but haven't dealt with them yet.
Picking up the tractor thursday and will be making a list of needed parts once it's home and the fire crud is cleaned of.
Parts money is a little thin now since the deal fell thru with another buyer and now we'll be picking up a 20" goose neck stock trailer he was also selling, his since new and always shedded, for $2700 I couldn't pass that deal up ether.

Just I luck, commit to these purchases and now the right rear axle seal on the 6610 cab tractor started leaking.
Not sure how big of a job that's going to be.

Got the 6600 home today and in the shed.
Built Dec 03 1975, eight days before my 20th birthday.

Gentleman said his FIL bought it new and it has always been on that farm.
Told me there were some more parts that go with the tractor in the barn, then showed me the weight bracket and small suitcase weights that came on the tractor.
Score!
