I did a little custom harvesting of organic corn for a friend. All went well except i always had my tailings elevator filled with corn on level ground.
It was making that all familar salt and pepper shaker sound. I used to pick corn with a 4400 and the tailings auger only got noisey going up hills.I had a clean sample and the mill told me i had the cleanest corn around.(with the 4400)
So i was wandering if this is normal to have so much corn returning thru the tailings elevator.Moisture level was about 21-22%. I had to run my fan at 900rpm to keep the sample clean. My cylinder speed was 425rpm.Concave was open to 1 to 1 1/2 inches.Sieve was open about 1/4 inch.Chaffer was closed inside and open 3/4 inch on the outer end. Also mention that i had a 443 cornhead. Is the 6620 a more fussy machine to set up ? Is a noisy tailings elevater normal> Can anyone comment on this
