I have a bought a 6640 SLE and was wanting to install a westendorf TA26 loader on it. Any ideas good or bad? Any other loaders should I look at instead? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with Westendorf... could be a great loader for all I know.
If it was me I'd be looking for an Alo Quicke. They seem quite popular around here and seem to hold up well.
What I would avoid, in all honesty, is a Ford Q/T loader of that vintage. Most that I've seen, including the one I have all break their arms at the cross member. The design is rather poor in that area where the cross member is the full size of the arm and welded right across the section of the arm. Couple that with the fact that water routinely gets inside the cross member and you have a recipe for disaster. They always break the arm beside the cross member welds....
IH loaders of that design suffer the same problem.
The Quicke and Deere loaders use a tubular cross member welded through the arm. It's a better design in my opinion. The Quicke also uses mechanical, 4 bar self leveling.... something I'd think essential on a loader of that size.

The powerstar is an able tractor that will break a loader not up to the task. I'd stay away from the light, cheap loaders.

I just bought a Westendorf TA 26, and will be putting it on my 4600 shortly... with the hopes of upgrading to a 5610/6610 fwa in a year or two. Can't tell you yet how good it is or isn't, but it does have the tubular cross member that Rod mentioned, adn is rated for tractors in the size range of your 6640.
