67 Ford 4000 engine rebuild

Hi all.I was wondering if an in frame rebuild is possible on the 201 3 cyl. diesel.Motor was locked up,I was able to get it freespinning again but not without scoring #3 cylinder.Does this motor have sleeves that I can replace? (I didnt check while I had the head off and want to leave the motor sealed up until I am ready to rebuild.)or do I have to split the tractor and have it bored at a machine shop?I see sleeves are available but they dont specify years etc.

There are no sleeves. Must be bored to install. If scoring not to bad may be able to hone them out. Use a ridgid hone, works better than flex hone.

You do know the difference between an inframe and out of frame is 10 bolts??
Assuming you have adequate lifting equipment you'd save a lot of trouble by just tearing it down and doing it right.

Since you have a diesel engine that was seized up, now with a scored cylinder wall, with the head off, split, to machine shop and do the whole job. Otherwise your wasting labor and money in the long run. Tom

Thank you for the reply"s ...Although, I asked a simple question "does the 201 diesel have sleeves"? Yes,I realize that it is 10 extra bolt"s(no problem).And no, I have never tried to get by cheap on any rebuild I have ever done on anything...
