68 Ford 4000 loader

Hey guy and gals. I have a 68 Ford 4000, 3cyl. I am looking at putting a loader on it, would like a model with its own hyd. pump.
Will be used 90% of the time to move 1000# round bales. What all models would fits and be best suited for this. Thanks.

Ford 771 & 772 loaders will fit a Ford 4000. The 771 loader has an 1800 lb lift capacity, the 772 has a 2500 lb lift capacity.

Thank you, would you have any ideas of the best place to find either of these. I am having trouble finding much. I have a one-arm trip bucket that is handy for cleaning out the barn, but I'm ready for an upgrade.

There are a ton of makes and models that will fit... just need the right mounting brackets. I had a Ford 772 and beat it to death handling 1700-2000 lb. high moisture bales. Replaced it with a Westendorf TA26, which is SO much nicer... quick-tach, on or off in 2 minutes, no tools, and built heavier. Might be harder to find something like that with it's own pump. Try www.loaders.com. Another Ford option would be the 730 industrial loader. Not quick-tach, but will have its own pump.

I would have guessed a 730 would be too short for a 4000.
Maybe not.
Not sure of the model but the loader that was installed on a 4400 would fit.
Maybe someone here knows.
They were much easier to install than a 730 too. 730 was a pia to put on a 3 cyl.
They came with their own pump too.

You're right - the 730 is listed as fitting the 2000,3000, and 4000SU, but not the standard 4000.
The loader that fits the 4400 (and 3550) is the 735.

Where are you finding this information, I am having a hard time finding resources for these old loaders, and even the newer loaders on-line, of course my computer skills are at a minimum to say the least.

I looked in some of my old Ford sales literature. loaders.com in Westendorfs site. I think they offer at least a couple models with
their own pumps.

I pulled a Ford brand 703 off an 800 which is the same (for this purpose)as the 4 cyl 4000. It's a hoss with no cracks or welds that can handle anything a tractor this size will. I'm in N.Central Tx if you care to buy it. Click email

A '68 4000 is a 3 cylinder 4000, not a 4 cylinder 4000, and a loader frame from an 800 will not fit.

That's a dead ringer for my 4400.... Cab and all.
I'm thinking I'm gonna take the cab off... Noisy and hard to get in and out of for me....6'3".

Why are you wanting a loader with it's own pump?
One of the newer quick attach loaders is the way to go.
Full frame loaders are tuff but make any repair work on the tractor a royal pain.
