684 Head Gasket

I have a IH 684 with a D239 Turbo, whats the deal with aftermarket head gaskets verses the one I can buy at IH dealers? Any particular gasket makers preferable (available in NZ). How is the quality of Sparex gaskets vs someone like Bare-Co?

From what I can see both of those are distributors, not actual manufacturers of the parts.

There just isn't the demand for head gaskets for these engines like there once was, so it's not like there are a dozen different manufacturers making them. They generally only come from one or two manufacturers. One possibility is FelPro, but you'd have to do some research to find out where Sparex and Bare-Co source their head gaskets. Or, just order one and see what you get.
