686 310 engine injector sleeve

Need to replace an injector sleeve on 686 with 310 engine. Will 3/4" tap work ok?

The tool for that was nothing more than a bolt with a threaded hole in the head for a slide hammer. Tap can't hurt anything if a bolt won't thread in enough alone.

Put a rag/towel in bottom of sleeve prior to attempting to extract, metal flakes in cylinder.
