6v Battery Cable Gauge ???

I was wondering if it mattered on the gauge of battery cable for a 6vlot system?
what is recommended?

f course it matters. Wire size is always matched to current capacity needed. Put a 22 GA wire in place of the battery cable & it will be a fast acting fuse...vapor! A 4 GA wire won't turn instantly to vapor, but will drop so much voltage that starter motor will struggle with the less than 6v that it will receive. Need cables deigned for 6v application..they are larger than 12v cables commonly found at auto supply stores

This site's Parts Store (YT), lists #1 GA, but larger sure doesn't hurt anything.

Yes, it matters. Recommend thick as yer thumb, one-ought (1/0) cable. DO NOT USE ferrin' made 4-ga 12V skinny cables. You can't find 1/0? Gittsumm custom made at WELDING supply shop. Simple, eh? .........respecfully, Dell
