7 breaking plow or tip

A friend who is 82 years old has a two-wheel garden tractor of unknown make he bought fifty years ago and has used (and still uses) regularly. It is about time for the second or third replacement of his 7" breaking / turning plow or plow point. The moldboard and coulter blade seem okay to my untrained eye.

Any ideas how we might help him?

I know it's off the wall, but take a look at Sears. They used to sell a pretty small plow (cat. 0) for their garden tractors.
Perhaps the parts from something like that could be made to work.

You should also place this request over on the Garden Tractor forum as you will get more responses. Someone over there may have a good plow point. I have a plow off the Viking G tractor it's an 8-inch and I built a frame almost exactly like the handles and drawbar and a bracket to fit the sleeve hitch on my Wards garden tractor. I bought the Viking in 1960 and I kept the plow when I sold the tractor. I have a spare point, but I'd better keep it. Hal

Take it off & see if there is a number on the backside of the share or moldboard. Then get back to me, I might know where there is some. Earl

Are you sure a good welding shop couldn't build the cutting edge back up? When I was growing up dad took his plow shears to an amish blacksmith who built them back up.

I appreciate all the responses -- and have NEVER been disappointed when asking my infrequent questions here on YT. If there is anything practical that people here don't know I can't imagine what it would be.
