That's a 7/830 high tin, made the year before the comfort King models. I believe that makes it a 64 or 65.

ok, so then it might an 830 also. and this high tin your referring to is that a one year thing? and which would be a better unit,... the 730 or 830 other than a few more h.p. that dual range is it like a high and low range basically.?
what would something like this be worth?

If it runs and tires hold air price should start at $1000 and go up depending on condition. The 7/830 were the same except for engine bore and heads. I believe the high tin was just a year or a bit more. That one is a western, so in some areas that makes them more desirable and in some less. Likely doesn't have the eagle hitch. That one is a dry clutch and has the 8 spd transmission with 4 gears and high/low.

Yes I know all about the serial number and where it is. It is just that I wanted to get a little info as the guy is unable to get at it for a while. No body had given me the the exact model. 730 or 830 or how to tell the difference by looking at them. I just have not been around this model case much. Show me an Ihc and I dont have to ask questions.

Late 62 through 64. Block, or head casting numbers will tell if 730, or 830. Might be a tag by the injector pump drive that shows cubic inches.

The only tell by looking from a distance is the air filter on the 830 s a bit larger. Otherwise you need to see the serial or engine tag.

I'm going to make an educated guess. Im saying its an 830, pre '65. Reason I think its NOT a 730 is the cast iron wheel weight on the back. My grandpa had a 730 new, dad said it was gutless and took all its power to move itself around. I have an 830 CK and it needs weight, it will spin out long before powering out.
I also havent seen a 730 with 3 fuel filters, which is what my 830 has; however there's lots and lots of stuff case did I've never seen haha.

If you get to the tractor, ahead of the injection pump on top of the casting there should be a plate, if that plate says 267 it is a 730, if 301 it is a 830. that indicates engine displacement.
