I have a Case 700 and I have a ring gear with lots of teeth missing. The pinion shaft lost a bearing and really messed some things up. I need help taking it apart. I am not sure how to get the ring gear or pinion out. I know how to get the clutch housing, pto housing, transmission cover, and rear end cover off.
Thanks for any help

You will have to finish taking ot apart to
do that. The brake shafts have to come out
the get the differential out and the axles
have to come out to get room to roll the
diff out the back. The pinion shaft has a
nut on the front that holds it in. I've
never done the job, but have done most
everything else. Get a book because
setting everything on reassembly is very
precise. I also think finding a donor rear
end would be a lot easier. One from a 700
or 730/830 ith dry clutch and eagle hitch
as well as the very late 400 super deisel
are matches.

I have a few rearends. I actually just pulled apart a 830
case-o-matic and thought I would just switch the top
shafts and bell housings but found a cracked housing. I
did not know if I needed any specialty tools for the
disassembly. Thanks again

What is the difference for an early and a late 400?
I have a 400 and thought I would use it. Thanks again
