7000 planter

There were three models of the 4R 7000 planter. The 4R Narrow, 4R Wide, and the Conservation model in 4rW.
The 4RW can be set down to 36 but it was designed to be set at 40 inches and above. The narrow, 40 inches and below. The Conservation was designed as a no til planter.
I use a 4RW set at 36 inches for corn sorgham and bean food plots for wildlife, and sweet corn. All the tractors are set at 72 inches tread center.

As they say, the 4-wide 7000 takes some tougher mods to make it work, the wheels are in the way & brackets are welded on, axle needs to be cut. I believe the markers don't go that short as delivered either, but can be modified of course or set to use the 'far' front wheel as the mark.

If it is the narrow frame conservation planter then it could be 4x36/38 or 4x30. If it is the single lift cylinder with ridged axle standard then no. The conservation planter has individual lift cylinders on each wheel. You can slide everything in to 30" row. The standard can have the axle flipped and go down to 34/36 inches.

The 7000 conservation was also available as a 4-30" planter. I covered many, many acres with one.
Both styles can be narrowed from wide rows to narrow. The rockshaft lift model just takes a little more effort to narrow the rockshaft.
