706/806 differences.

Nope same same . Both have 3 1/4 axles brakes the same all gears are the same The 806 has a taller grill shell and a taler dash support bigger rad. and sheet metal.

Some 706s had a 2 spider differential, the bull gears are different width.

Other than that drive train is pretty much the same.

what Vet said. also, I think maybe 806 has larger diameter steering wheel? never measured, but feels like it. also frame rails and front hood are longer for 806 than 806 with 282- not sure about 310. bigger fuel tank. flywheels are different but clutch and back is the same.

(quoted from post at 13:51:42 08/14/15) I was told the brake bearings, were wider on the 806. That was kinda bar talk years ago.

Brake drums and separator plated are narrower on the early tractors, both 706 and 806.

Never seen or heard anything about two spider pinions in the differentials so I went to my parts book to look. Sure enough, there it was. The 706 originally came with four pinion differentials and then switched to a two pinion differential for a while before going back to the four pinion one.
