706 eng block number

I bought a 706 few years back and lost guys number. He told me he pulled org eng and replaced it with low hour combine eng. where would I find numbers on eng to ID eng

IH stamped the engine numbers on the machined pad just back of oil filter base on tractor engines, not sure if combine blocks are stamped in the same area.

If it's a combine block, look on the front right corner above the gen/alt for a machined pad that's stamped.

I have a combine engine in my 560 it is a 301 it is stamped right side towards front on a flat pad above gen

All i know about it is doesn't have sleeves, so if it need a overhaul,you will have to bore the holes. Other than that and the governor is different but that obviously been changed !!
