Is the ground supposed to just run a short distance and bolt to the battery box or is it supposed to run to a more substantial ground? The diagram I'm looking at shows the ground shooting off but stops with just the ground symbol. It appears these tractors were positive ground from the factory - trying to see if it's been altered. Thanks.
 
Most ground cables were mounted to the box, but after years of use the battery box gets corroded and no longer supplies a good ground. Most move the ground to a casting to provide a better ground.
