Were some of these tractor all green or has been it been repainted? Orignal owner states tractor has not been repainted. Owner states tractor was parked because steering got increasly tougher to turn and big engine was being pulled down from power steering problems.Does this sound possible and what might be the fix and or problem. New to the deere tractors. Can I unhook power steering pump and run big engine until I can get in shop for repairs? Thanks for any and all info.

Check the serial number on the right hand side under the belt pulley area to make sure it is a 720.
The yellow part was a decal. When it fades it typically turns white, never seen one that had gone completely away down to the green paint.
Have not heard of the PS pump pulling down a 720 diesel, I guess it could happen. But that engine when right will pull a 3-4 bottom plow in pretty heavy dirt.

My 720D is all green..Original...the yellow has completely disappeared..!!
Still has the dealer decal on the pony engine door..
Would like to get that decal re-produced before I re-paint it..

The 720 is fading out. The 530 and 730 already have.

Looks like the distributor comes out of the crankcase, mounted vertical. That should make it a 720.
