got a 730lp that leaks hydraulic oil behind where the top link mounts for the 3 point. what is back behind to leak and how would you go about fixing it. it didnt leak bad till i put the top link bar on and carried a bale the other day. not its done leaked out a gallon of oil .

It's a big job. you will need to replace the lip seal and or the bushings. However the bushings are no longer avaliable from Deere. You will have to get some one to machine you some if needed. It is very diffcult to remove the load control yoke F3257R due to the tight clearance and heavy duty springs. I just did my 720 a few weeks ago. The procedure is covered in the service manual but is very vague.

Dale did you have the official JD manual on just the hydraulics for those late models ? I thought it always had good detail ?

Yes I had the John Deere service manual for the hydralics. I found that the welch plugs did not need to be removed. I did fabricate a tool to hold the dashpot in place. The I&T manual has a good diagram for making the tool.
There was no real good way explained on how to remove and install the load control yoke with the heavy springs.
Also be careful as to not drop anything like kotter pins, tools, ECT.. as they are hard to retrive.

I have the exact same problem on my 730, slow hydraulic oil leak from the load control yoke. I don't have a service manual or instructions on how to remove. There's a type of pin in the center seemingly holding the shaft in place... does it unscrew or just pull out or other?
