730LP standard

I recently aquired a very nice 730 LP Standard, unrestored, perfect tin, adjustable wide front, 3pt, good tires, 3100 hrs, most options. I know that only 220 were produced, What is a fair value on a tractor like this?

Thanks,
Cody

A non restored tractor should bring 10-12 in our neck of the woods (TN) if the tractor is in good working condition. It's easy to spend $400.00 on LP parts if the tractor has been parked for a while.

Some tractors in the past have brought more, but they were actually restored tractors, not simply painted.

That price also assumes that the transmission has all its gears and are quiet, the engine runs smoothly, rockshaft works, powershaft works, etc.. etc..

If the condition of the tractor is less most buyers would expect to pay less.

This should be one of those tractors that you can afford to get in good working order in order to make it fetch a premium price. Adding $800.00 worth of parts to make it operable when someone comes to look at it may get you into a more premium selling bracket that allows you to fetch that $12,000.

In short, normally only premium tractors fetch premium prices. This is nothing you dont know. Simple buy/sell/trade tactics. The only thing that changes is the possible buyers. This is a luxury item! Most "regular" collectors are not interested.

Guess I should have added the comparative sales. Your neighbor in Franklin had a 720 LP STD with rockshaft and 3 pt. and asking $7,500 last year. It was a repaint in fairly good condition. I do not know the selling price. He likley would not share the info.

I sold a 70 LP standard in working clothes with rockshaft and no 3 pt. for $7,000 recently. It was in very good mechanical condition with all new LP parts, new clutch, bored block and new rings, head work, etc etc.

A 730 should bring just a touch more b/c of around 110 less produced and being a 30 series.

Here is a pic of the 70.
