I had to get my 14.9-24 tires taken off the rims because the valve stems leaked calcium and rusted off. It cost me $75 just to remove the tires from the rim! I was shocked... . I am wondering if I shoudl go somewhere else when I am ready to remount them... They complained I didnt get all the calcium out..

Is that a normal price or did I get ripped off?

Price sounds pretty good to me. I am guessing these are tube tires. You better get a quote from them for new tubes and mounting so you can be prepared when that time comes, unless you decide to do it yourself. If you are going to have them mount them, plan on them supplying the tubes, you don't want to try to reuse the old ones. If you are going to mount them yourself, buy where you want but you will likely get quality comparable to what you pay.

Are you going to leave them dry or have calcium put back in?

That is about 1 hour at an average shop rate. Anything less than that the owner would have lost money. Most shops in my area are close to
$100.00 per hour. I am too cheap at $60.00, but I am Semi- retired and just like to work.

I haven't paid the bill yet(in the morning)the quote was $275.00 for a tube and
repair. $50.00 for coming out to the house(3 miles) I figure it is about right.

Pumping the rest of the liquid out would take some extra time, as would getting the tires off the rusted bead. I paid $65.00 to get used tires mounted on a pair of 12x28s that I had blasted repaired and painted. I was very happy with that price.
