I bought a 7520 John Deere this last winter, and am just getting around to trying to get it to start. The guy who had it retired last year, and didn't use it the last two years he did farm. I've never been around one of these 7520's before, but am familiar with the 4020's, 3020's. This tractor was used to pull a toolbar to summerfallow with, and that's it. As of right now the pto lever is seized, and the hand throttle was as well, with the little rod and ball setup busted. I've got the throttle linkage moving somewhat, although still tight. It was setup with only one 12 volt battery in a homemade tray right beside the starter. I've put a new battery in it, changed the fuel filters and bled the air out of the injector lines. The fuel in it seems good yet. I can turn it over, but it seems slow to me and wears down the battery very quickly. It only smokes, but never has fired for me yet. Starting fluid doesn't help. Tempatures have been in the 50's for about a week now here. The previous owner had mentioned it being hard to start, and him using starting fluid most of the time to get it to go. It has a 12 volt nippendectio? starter. I am curious to know if I need to put more then one battery together here to get it to start. How many did it use from the factory? I am hoping to get it to go by spinning it over a little quicker if that's what it needs.
