Hey did this work I am in the exact same situation stumped
New here how to time the Lucas injector pump the gear has no timing mark 755b backhoe ford stumped me there was an old post how to do it where do I match the pump up gear is on shaft w key can b adjusted w three bolts for slight adjusting after timed like a distributed cap in a way

In the service manual shows a standard dot on the gear this one definitely has none I'm not sure where to begin

If you have a rotary pump and you haven't removed the gear from the front cover... you just put the pump back on. There's a dowel that sets the relationship of the gear to the pump... and provided you haven't changed anything else, just reinstall the pump, set the index marks back to zero or half a degree clockwise and call it good... UNLESS the index marks were set somewhere else previously.

Totally rebuilt motor need to time it but the gear on the injection pump has no mark it's a Lucas I'm not sure how you time the tractor now was told put number one on tdc then time pump and slide in gear I need to know how to time that pump

What engine do you have anyway? That hoe should have had an engine with a Simms/Minimec pump unless it got changed to a later BSD engine that has a DPS type distributor pump. There's also the chance that someone has changed the pump on the original engine... There should still be timing marks on the gear.
If it's a case where someone has goobered the original engine with another pump... I suppose I'd probably get the rest of the gears set for static time... get the timing mark visible at the flywheel window. IIRC, the turbo engine is supposed to be set at 17 deg BTDC. Then I would probably remove #1 delivery valve from the injection pump head, apply fuel pressure to the pump with an electric pump, set throttle to maximum delivery, then rotate the pump shaft until fuel spills from #1 delivery port... THEN set the gear in place. Again, I'm just throwing out an idea. I don't know for certain if it would work or not.
Something does not make sense here with no timing marks unless this is a newer emissioned engine.

Late 70 earrly 80 original ford 4 cyl bout 100 horse pump belongs here shows it in the service manual thanks so far

4 cylinder turbo engines did not normally have a CAV pump. They had an inline Simms/Minimec pump. The 233 cid engine of that vintage had the CAV pump as did the 3 cylinder engines.
Either pump ~can~ be fitted if you know what you're doing... but I find it very odd that his engine has ~that~ pump.
