I have found a 756 that I intend to try to look at soon.I value the advice of you guys so I thought I would seek your input.Dont know the hours but he says he put a clutch in 150 hours ago. It is a diesel and he says the TA works. He is asking $4000 how does that seem pricewise? Also anything special I should look for? He said the only defect he is aware of is the diesel pump drips a little. Oh I almost forgot its a narrow front.

If the tires hold air and it starts and runs on all cylinders buy it. Jim

Check for antifreeze in the oil.

They are an excellent little tractor but look real close at the engine oil.They are a single O-ring per liner and if it hasn't been overhauled yet or the coolant changed at regular intervals they tend to cavitate around and under the O-rings.I have seen this twice in the last year.The first was the engine in a 756 that was left and run so long that it completely ruined it.Then they bought a 715 combine with a 310 in it with 1800hrs on it to repower the 756.The combine had sat a couple years until they bought it fired it up drove it about 15 miles and time it hit my shop she was spittin prestone out the blowby and it was right to the rad cap before they fired it up.Find the blowby tube its on the right side at the rear of the engine-stick your finger as far as you can reach,there shoudn't be any green milky sludge on your finger.

If it is useable the you'd better get it bought. That is cheap for my area...

If it has 3-point and decent tires & oil is all oil and antifreeze is all antifreeze and clutch holds and…, it is a $6000+ tractor.

Be aware that the injection pump can be VERY expensive to work on, if they can even find some of the parts for it.

I don't understand why, because that pump was on just about every 70-95HP IH row crop tractor from 1967 through 1985. Anything with a D310 or D358, like the 706, 756, 826, 686, 786, 886, and 3088. You can get parts for a lot less common engines.
