770 case

I am going to look at a 770 case Monday night.What I can tell you it has sat for a while, turns over. Do not know the year, it is a open station diesel. My question is what do I look for? Do I take battery's along to see if it will start? Thank you for the help.

I would certainly take a good battery and cables to attempt getting it running. That can help so much in evaluating a tractor. Bring a 1 in wrench and take the engine oil plug loose to see if there is coolant in the oil before attempting to start it. Rod.

The Case guys will know. Isn't there some sort of engine balancer issues in the early ones?......Ron

I'm guessing this is the 770 in Defiance? Just saw the ad and called about it, looks like a good buy. Let me know if your not interested in it as we would be.
