7740SL clutch release bearing

I am replacing clutch etc. on our 7740 at app.3900 hrs.Iwould like to replace throwout brg.as it has a small groove worn around the face.It will come off the hyd. slave assy.,but Ford does not offer just the bearing,you have to buy the whole assy,at around$550.00!I was hoping someone could tell me where to look to find this bearing.Thanks in advance.

have you tried a google seach on the web? You should be able to find the correct part for a lot less than $550. You parts people must be horses_____ to pull that on you! That"s a typical wear part that"s probably less than $50.

The parts catalog lists the complete slave cylinder/bearing as noted. It also references figure 7B2 which lists a seal kit p/n 82006651 for the slave cylinder as well as a "kit, cap assembly" p/n 82001919 which may very well be the bearing, I just don't know. Messick's has the cap kit listed for $34.06 Hope this helps.
