8 n ford 12 volt conversion

I am changing over to 12volt system do iI need to change any thing in the dist like points or condenser Thanks Ray

Not inside the distributor.

Points are nothing more than a switch to ground. Open = not grounded. Closed = grounded.

Front mount or side mount there are a few thing that are different between the 2 so different things have to be done

Eman is dead on.....nothing "inside" the distributor whether front or side mount!

Decide ahead of time what your plan is for the coil and or resistor. Lots of information on this site regarding a new 12 volt coil or the original 6 volt coil. Some conversion kits come with a new coil, others do not.

Typical automotive ignition condensers are rated for a couple of hundred Volts or more so their use on a 6 or 12 Volt system is pretty much irrelevant.
