I have an 8N I purchased. When cold it only starts with a little either ? After its ran and been shut off, it starts right up like it should ?
Any ideas why its hard to start when cold.
Thanks

Make sure you have a fully-charged battery. (And if it's been converted to 12V, make sure the alternator is actually functional to charge the battery.) A drained battery could very well be a contributing factor here.

My '50 8N starts to -20F this way: Fuel on, ignition OFF, pull choke, turn engine 4 turns. Switch ON, choke off, start engine and be ready with the choke.

If you are using summer gas, drain the tank and refill with winter NON alcohol gas. Summer gas is less volatile, doesn't vaporize well in winter. Winter fuel does vaporize better in cold weather. May be part of your problem.

Alcohol does not vaporize well... Experience with race cars burning alcohol are hard to get started and running in cool/cold weather.
