8 n hyd pump

pump removal. Is it possible that at some time a different pump could have been used other than the standard shown in all books and pictures. I just picked a 8n up and am trying to rebuild the pump. Removed all bottom bolts will not drop out. I pulled the top cover looking in it appears like the pump is also mounted on to flange that mounts to the engine frame. 4 bolts 2 lower doubt i can reach

The lower pump cover and assembly will only drop about a 1/8 in in rear

Tight fit, wiggle a bit and slide towards rear. Careful when it drops

Are we safe in ASSUMING you have removed
the PTO shaft?

But would the pump drop down any at all if the PTO shaft hasn't been pulled?
