800 series serial # ?

Morning. I have what I believe is a late ‘50s ford 800 series. Looking for help to nail down the model / year.

It’s my understanding that the serial number should on the left side of tractor on the flat surface adjacent to the starter but I don’t see anything there ( see pix) … or any other 3+ digit numbers on left side ( see pic with circle).

On the right side, below dipstick / coil area (see pix) is the 6 digit number: 310609. Based on serial number resources I have seen that number too large for a 800 series.

I’d appreciate and guidance you can provide.

Jeff, I marked in yellow where the model number should be stamped. It's not big, and not stamped deep (Like 1/4" tall characters). Based on your grill I'd guess whatever model, it's a "1" series, (801, 861 etc) not an "0" series.

Jeff- found it- appreciate your post/ help. You hit the nail on the head. I was looking on the wrong surface.

It’s clearly stamped 841 above the serial number . The s/n is less clear but it’s likely 77826. Not that it matters but middle digit could be a 2,3,8 or 9

That would be MFR year of 1959. because it’s pretty much in the middle of the range for that year I’m guessing it’s likely model year 1959 as well?

Thx again

To my eye that's 71826 which is a March 1959 serial number. Not to worry if it's 77826, that would be April 1959. Yes 1959 model year.
