806 steering

My 806 steering is acting up a little. I have went over the previous posts that seem relevant, but haven't found an answer.

All the hydraulics work fine - the lift, brakes, TA and most of time the clutch. But when I peg the steering to far left or far right, the tractor stops. If I let move off the far left or far right position just slightly, the clutch reengages and everything goes normally.

I found that if I hold the steering in either of the two pegged positions with the tractor in gear and the clutch out, in about ten seconds the clutch kicks in and I take off again.

I did the 5 gallon overfill and bled the 5/8 nut on the MCV, but nothing else yet. It does have a new filter in it.

Appreciate any help, as always,

Bob

You have a bad TA Steering has priority and there?s not enough pressure to keep the drive clutch is engaged and it should go down on the low side and pull against the spray but there?s no Spragg there to be polled against

You have a bad TA you lose all your pressure when it turns to the left or right steering has priority that means you lose your lock it pressure on your high side clutches and then when you should pour against the spray on the low side but you don?t have no spray or clutch is left for locking up and I?ll leave your money that?s what?s wrong with it

Thanks Timmy:

It does the same thing on the high side of the TA. Would it affect both sides of the TA the same way?

Appreciate it, Bob

Thanks for the help. So far it's just when I peg it left or right. I may have to live with it until I can get around to doing some work on the TA. Probably a winter project.

Appreciate it, Bob

With out doing a couple pressure tests and a flow rate of the MCV pump i will not say for sure that your T/A is going south . You could just have a small problem in the MCV with a blowen gskt. or O/Ring , you could just have low pump out put . and hour of running some pressure test and a flow rate of the pump is a lot cheaper . Might be weak springs or a sticking valve also in the MCV .
