820 power steering

Working on the power steering on my 820 two cylinder, I resealed the cylinder and pump this winter, working on adjustments. When the oil is cold I can get around 1200 psi when turned all the way one way but once warmed up I can only get about 7-800 psi, there was already enough washers on the relief valve for them to be flush with the nipple on it, I took them out and put a bushing on there that was about 1/16-3/32 past the end of that nipple but it didn't change the pressure any, any suggestions what's next?

Also when it is running 7-800 psi and I turn it all the way I can turn the steering wheel about 1-2 turns back the other way with only moderate resistance, then it's like it hits a wall and steers hard the rest of the way. All these test are while sitting still.

Are you using the OEM oil?

Sounds like the pump MAY be worn, allowing the warm, thinned oil to "slip" past the gears rather than being pumped efficiently.

It would be helpful to check pressure with a Flowratr, taking all parts besides the pump out of the circuit, and find out, for sure, what the pump is capable of to rule out valve or cylinder internal leakage while checking pressure and flow.

(Of course, if no Flowratr is available DO NOT "deadhead" the pump.)

Yes I'm using the OEM oil, forgot to mention that.
