830 case-o-matic fluid...again

OK, I need some more help here. I recently acquired a 1964 Case 830 with case-o-matic. It's a high profile model with the larger fuel tank. I seem to be having trouble with what type of fluid to put where. After a previous post and some digging through the archives, I think I'm leaning towards TCH in the torque converter. My problem is, I have an older owners manual, and the fill points don't seem to jive up with what the tractor shows.

Here are some of my questions:

1) How many different compartments are there, and what type of fluid goes in each. For example, my book shows the caseomatic housing holds 4 gallons, the transmission holds 15 gallons, and the "hydraulic control system" holds 10.5 quarts with eagle hitch. That seems to be three compartments, but my tractor only has two dipstick type fill points.

2) Are these compartments seperate, meaning do the oils move from one compartment to the other, or are they independent of each other. For example, can I put TCH in the torque converter and Hy Tran in the transmission and expect them to stay that way.

3) My book shows Type A ATF for the hydraulic control system. Is this the fluid that will go to the hydraulic outlets. If so, how can you hook to an implement with regular hydraulic oil in the cylinder and not end up with hydraulic oil in the ATF.

I know I'm probably making this way more complicated than it needs to be, but I would love for someone to tell me exactly what type and how much oil goes where, and exactly what hole it gets poured in to.

Thanks for any help, TA.

I had a Case 830 com for 20+ years, 70s to 90s.
I used SEA 10 nondetergent motor oil in it. The transmission and hydrolic is all the same, fill through the dipstuck by the gearshift leavers. Also used the same oil in the torque.

others on this board suggested some 5 yrs back I use Dextron 3 in the torque convertor.shifts better with less grinding .,hytran seems to be everyones pick now ,,, some folks will claim the torqueconvertor wil perform just fine with a generic oil ?,,. Not Me , i go with what is recommended ,But its your Tractor . tranny takes a 10 weight oil ( always seemed odd to me 90 wt.) but thats is the specs ... the hydro fill is a 3/4 pipe plug on top right side rear , 1/4 pipe plug is correct fill level, NOT SURE , hope others will comment type F is more then likely recommended so the PTO clutches do not constant drag run ,. I usually have to shut off motor to hook up PTO, i use generic fluid in my 800 hydraulics ,.

I've read on here that with the tall tin 1964's (2 stick model) the trans and hydraulic are together.

The COM is completely separate from the trans for fluids (unless your seals leak...).

INCase,
That is what it looks like to me, since I can only find two fill points, a dipstick fill on the left by the case-o-matic valve, and another dipstick fill on top of the transmission housing by the hi-start-lo shift stick. I looked for a fluid level plug on the right rear like it talked about in this older manual I've got, but there isn't one. I think I'm leaning towards putting TCH in the torque converter since it's a little thinner, and Hy Tran in the transmission. Just needed to know if the torque converter fluids were seperate from the transmission fluids, and it sounds like they are.
