830 engine

I'm looking at replacing the bad motor out of my 66 830 comfort king with a moter out of a ealier 830. The ealier 830 has the decompression heads. Is there any other differece between these motors? HP? Will they interchange? One better then the other? Thanks

The only difference is the opening for the decompressor mechanism. Other than that, they are identical.

Is the rest of the 830 donor any good? I am looking for low tin 830s, if you have any parts to sell let me know.

There will be an issue where the fuel filter mounts on the head of the confort king. I would remove the valve covers and check valves and totally remove the decompression application and blank the heads off. Then the fuel filter will work and look very very close to factory.
