I would like to put a heater in my 830 CK. Its a 4 cylinder gas. I have the heater all ready. I was looking at the tractor and all I really see is the bypass hose (about 4" long) that connects the water pump to the thermo state housing. I"m not sure I can get two hoses in there to run to the heater. I don"t see anywhere else to tap into the cooling system. Any suggestions?

I have seen tank heaters plumbed in the two drains one on the oil filter housing and one on the block or one in the block and install a tee into the water manifold where the temp sending unit is, my preferred method is buying a 3/8" pipe thread block heater unit and screwing it in the block, CASE sells these or I have been told NAPA carries them as well

Thanks. I just looked and also see a couple if block drains on the right side of the block around the oil pressure sending unit. Im assuming these are coolant. Anyway could you explain more about the block heater you mentioned? How would I use that to heat the cab? Thanks again

The heater Case Nutty is talking about is to preheat the engine with an extension cord and household power so the engine starts easier in cold weather. Almost a must for some diesels but helpful on gassers too depending on where in the world you live.

The block heater would not be used to heat the cab at all. Once you mentioned the 2 hoses fitting in there I had a hunch you meant a cab heater.

sorry Kevin I assumed you were talking about heating the engine, it has been a while since I hooked up a cab heater but I do know I came off the water pump at a plug I am thinking and then back in at the water manifold, is yours a dsl or gas engine? I can go take a few pics for you at where I would hook in if you like, sorry for the confusion

I was thinking you thought I was thinking block.. I should of been more specific. mine allready has a block heater. Pictures would be great but only when you have time... and its a gas by the way. Thanks.

these show the cab heater plumb in points, right behind the grease zerk is one and the other is right behind the water temp sending unit(mine has a elbow installed factory would have just been a plug) hope this helps

I just took my hood off and see the spots you are talking about. Except mine does not have plugs. Just flat spots. I can't seem to get pic loaded from my phone but looks like maybe I need to drill and tap those two spots?

you can tap them yes, the water pump does not have a plug either? must be a older one make sure you use a magnet and retrieve all metal cutting, you can also remove your temp sending unit and install a close nipple and a tee on the water manifold

No plug on the pump either. I though about a t on that sending unit. Was also thinking about a t in that smaller hose that connects the water pump to the manifold? Not sure though if I could get one to fit. Can't tell how much room there is between the two nipples.

I would not recommend the tee in the pump charge line, you may also get by doing the tee at the sending unit and then plumbing into the block drain
