Been working on the 830 for more than a week now, finally moved it out of the shed yesterday.
Bonnie even took it for a drive.
She says its all good now. Lol. Of course she didn't see the oil leak ill have to fix. The rock shaft seal got damaged and leaks so ill have to fix that. Otherwise everything works as it should. Hope its a good tractor for a while now. I have officially rebuilt it completely front to back. Last year I did the engine and com, this year everything behind that. I have had every bolt and nut off and every part out and rebuilt or fixed. This is the first tractor I've gone that far on.
Ive also been working on my disc while waiting for parts. I picked up this wing SA disc last fall.
Several of the bearings were bad and it needed new blades in the front, so I've been working on that as well. The bearings are unique in that the seals are separate from the bearings so that can be taken apart and greased.
It has 20 bearings total and I have to replace 8, the rest i greased and put back in. You can get those bearings, but they are several hundred dollars each, so I just replaced them with regular sealed bearings for about $30 each. The sealed bearings are a bit narrower on the shaft so you need to make washers to take up the extra space, but otherwise they work fine. Im about half done with that project.
Ive also been working on the 1030, it needed a new fuel tank because it was leaking and new brake seals. I did that today.
The brake seals were a bit extra difficult because of the big tires and loader frame, but I got it done. The tank came from my local salvage yard and is decent with only a small dent in the usual spot. It was rusty and had a bunch of grass and gunk inside, so some time flushing with E-85 gas and a pressure washer, then more E-85 and it was nice and clean. I had tried brazing the old tank several times, but I couldn't get it sealed.
Im also working on the 530, it had 2 bent push rods and the brake seal is leaking on one side. That will be the job tomorrow since its supposed to rain. If we dont get too much rain ill be planting this weekend or early next week.
