8300 valve lash

Hot or cold, intake 0.018 in., exhaust 0.028 in., right from the spec black book Deere gives out. Same procedure like the older engines. Do 3, then skip one do one 3 times, rotate and start over.

Thank you Is there a mark for Tdc on these new engines
On a 1-5-3-6-2-4 firing order 6 cylinder, number 6 cylinder valves on overlap is TDC number 1… valve overlap on number 1 cylinder is one turn of crank later for TDC of number 6 cylinder. These locations will be within a few degrees of true TDC close enough for setting valves.

On the right rear of the engine(as sitting in the seat), the front of the flywheel housing there are two holes, one over an inch and a smaller 3/8. Take a 5/16 bolt and put in the smaller hole (once plug is removed) and rotate the engine until the bolt drops in. You are then at TDC.

I’ve done it that way before but I really like to be set on tdc if I can especially on a 20.000$ engine.

Thanks a million for your help
