850 Piston Pump

My 3pt lift doesn"t work all of a sudden. It worked fine going into the winter, and I took off a hydraulic accessory plate and put the original cover plate back on with new O-rings. The lift worked fine shortly after that, but I haven"t used the tractor for 3 months since then. Now it does not lift at all. I removed the pipe plug from the top of the piston pump, but no fluid comes out while running. The hydraulic fluid was replaced a year ago and it is still clean and is to the "full" level. I never left the tractor sit this long without using it, since I"ve had it (5 years). It is parked in a barn if that matters. Does anyone have any tips on what to check next? Thanks.

I figured it out. I must have read 50 posts about this subject and I thought I knew what I was doing when I tried to pime the pump. After posting the question I did yet another search, this time for "piston pump prime" and found one with a picture. I discovered I was removing the wrong plug to release air. Leave it to me to need pictures in order to figure something out! I just ran out, loosened the front plug, and presto the 3pt now works again.

Glad you got it primed. if it looses it again.. you probably got a leaky oring onthe suction side somewhere. watch it.

I'm hoping I got air in it when I swapped out that valve control. But I took it out to level some gravel this afternoon, and it does raise now but very very jerky. Still hoping it is more air.
