Putting a remote valve on my 860 are the ones for the 3000 the same?

Valves changed some from the mid '50's to early '80's, but yes, one from a 3000 will fit a 860.

Yes, any remote valve from 1955 through at least the early 80's will work. Some later ones might work as well depending on the individual valve.
